My First 150 Days

A documentary film that follows an immigrant family over its first 150 days in Canada

My First 150 Days takes an intimate and personal look of an immigrant family moving to Canada as they experience the joys and hardships of starting fresh in a new land. Melona Banico waited nearly 10 years to move her children and grandchildren to Canada. We capture her and her family’s journey as they try to overcome the many obstacles they face as they immigrate to Canada from the Philippines. She alone helps three generations of her family navigate a new city, a new country with new cultures and customs. We chronicle their first 150 days of learning to live in Toronto. This film will air in 2017 in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday.
